From Wags to Biz: My Journey as a Small Pet Business Owner
Starting a small pet business from home is no easy feat. But when you combine your passion for pets, especially a specific breed, with your entrepreneurial spirit, anything is possible. My love for my dog Muzic the Boston Terriers led me to start my own pet business, and I couldn't be happier with the decision.
When I first decided to start my business, I had no idea where to begin. I knew I had a passion for pets, and I knew I wanted to help other pet owners in any way I could. But, the thought of starting a business from scratch was daunting. I felt overwhelmed and unsure of how to turn my dream into a reality. But, I knew that if I wanted to make it happen, I had to take the first step.
I started by researching everything I could about starting a small business, and I learned about the different types of pet-related businesses I could start. I also learned about the different breeds of dogs, and how to care for them. I read books, articles, and watched YouTube videos online to learn as much as I could. It wasn't always easy, but I knew that if I wanted to succeed, I had to put in the work.
After months of researching and planning, I finally took the leap and dove headfirst into starting my pet business. It was all because of a major pet peeve of mine - there were no Pet Bowls on the Australian market that I personally liked. The ceramic one I had for my dog Muzic, when he was a puppy, rusted and ended up in the trash. And all the plastic bowls were just too flimsy and never looked good as a piece of furniture. That's when I decided to take matters into my own hands and bought in the Chubby Pet Bowls that were both functional and stylish.
It was a slow start, but with persistence and hard work, I was able to build a loyal customer base from Muzic Instagram. I started selling products online and also started my Instagram page to share my knowledge and experience with other pet owners, and it was a hit.
One of the things I love most about my business is being able to share my love for Boston Terriers with others. I've had the opportunity to meet so amazing people in the same business like Eva from https://www.evlette.com.au/ and it's been a truly rewarding experience. I've learned so much about the her struggles and journey and have been able to learn from her and share that knowledge that we have in common.
Starting a small business from home is not always easy, and it requires a lot of hard work and dedication. But, if you have a passion for something and are willing to put in the time and effort, the rewards can be truly amazing. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to turn my passion for my dog Muzic, into a running business, and I look forward to continuing to grow and evolve in the future.
So, if you're thinking about starting your own pet business, just remember that it's possible. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. And don't be afraid to share your passion, it can be a great way to connect with other pet lovers and build a loyal customer base.
And remember to always stay true to yourself and your love for pets. Happy pet business-ing!
